Tony Takitani

This is a Japanese feature length film based on the author’s short story of the same title. It features minimalist photography that I enjoyed very much in this context, but is perhaps overly stylized for the approach I’m aiming for for this book trailer. Nonetheless, it is interesting to see how others have visually explored the author’s theme of island-selves, and connection constructed through everyday objects and commodities as replacement of real investment into others’ lives.
